Gorham has used date marks on mid- to high-priced holloware since 1868.  Date marks are occasionally
found on silverplated holloware and very rarely on flatware.  Date codes were discontinued in 1933 and
were resumed in January, 1941.
Beginning in 1941, the
Gorham date mark changed
to a geometric figure.  The
shape of the figure indicates
the decade, with the number
inside the figure indicating
the year.
